NorthernCamper.com is an electronic version of the Northern Camper Magazine, which is a free publication distributed monthly from May through September in six counties in northwest lower Michigan.

The Northern Camper Magazine was founded in the early spring of 2004 by two old guys with long careers in graphic arts and journalism. It seemed there were a lot of people camping in northern Michigan (duh) and their interests and lifestyles were, in many ways, different from people with cabins or those visitors who stay in hotels. We wondered if they'd be interested in something just for them to read. And they were, but so were others, including the year around residents and the people who own cabins and stay in hotels. As a result, the magazine continues to grow.

Part of that growth is this website. Now, in the summer of 2008, we have it up and running with some of our favorite features from the magazine. As time goes on, we'll add more and expand site's scope.
